What kind of services are we offering at this library?!
Finals are coming up, which means stress is already here. As a librarian helping students through finals, the stress is mostly a management of other people's stress. Helping them to calm down, plan ahead, and avoid fights with other students [of which I've seen a couple]. Since librarians are generally the sort who wants to help, rather than hinder, it is not unusual that we are having a "Re-Charge at the Library!" event where students can engage in a number of activities (most involving free coffee). What is fun is when Wordpress auto-tweets the blog post [above] but cuts the text off at a particular letter count...with no regard for what the original sentence has been changed to say:
Good times. Hey, man, librarians need cuddles, too.
For those curious, the entire original line is: "Want to cuddle with a sweet puppy before your last minute cram session?". We are having a Therapy Partners, Inc dogs come by on December 7, from 1pm-3pm. Just in case that's the sort of thing you would enjoy.
