How I spent my seventh anniversary...

Sarah and I had our seventh anniversary yesterday. It was nice. Quiet. Mostly spent here, at home, and with only the exceptions of an hour phone call with my brother, Danny, about theoretical physics and the existence of other universes, a making of a pair of Dentist appointments, and some going-nowhere-fast back and forth emails with a student at UAHuntsville who was unable to put in an Interlibrary request, our primary stimulus of the day was a pair of quick errands—largely to gather food for dinner last night—in the middle.

We ate breakfast at Blue Plate Cafe, which is an interesting place in that it is only open from 6am-2pm (and only on some days) and yet it is busy as a bee the whole time. Lots of workers running back and forth and everyone is happy and shouting. Good place. Good food. The breakfast is a little overpriced but the quality is nice.

After which, we hit up The Deep to pick up the The King in Yellow expansion for Arkham Horror. Headed home for a bit. Then ran out to get a couple of New York Strips, some shrimp [both of these from Earth Fare and highly recommended], and some mushrooms and salad makings from John's Big Brother groceries.

Eventually, those food things came together to form dinner, with a massive salad, massive steaks topped with mushrooms and shrimp, and sides. There was even pumpkin pie topped with cranberries and pistachio ice cream.

At one point in time, the definite plan was to watch The Cat Returns and then play some Arkham Horror. Definite plans change and we ended up watching some Arrested Development (finished season 1, started season 2) and chilled on the couch. If I am making our anniversary sound boring and pastoral, I think this one photo should explain exactly what sort of day it was...
